Ubisoft today unveiled Watch Dogs, a brand new futuristic espionage game at their E3 press conference.

You step into the shoes of protagonist Aiden Pearce in the open-world environment, with the ability to hack the computer systems located about the world. You can manipulate traffic-lights or tap into security cameras.

"Watch Dogs goes beyond the limits of today's open-world games by giving players the ability to control an entire city," said Jonathan Morin, creative director, Ubisoft.

"Watch Dogs blends cutting-edge technologies and sophisticated game design into a realistic and living open world where players must use any means at their disposal to take down a corrupt system."

Reminded me of a cross between Deus Ex:Human Revolution and a gritty version of GTA4, that seems like a winning mix to me, can't wait for more details and what the online play involves.

The intro had me really interested, but the gameplay didn't seem to live up to the ideas behind it. I think I will withhold my judgement for now. The Ubisoft conference as a whole could be the surprise hit of E3 though. Only Nintendo can surpass it with a strong showing of the Wii U.

I thought it looked very Heavy Rain-like at the start.

But hell, looks like an awesome game.
I'm definitely going to have a look at this when it releases, it looks bloody brilliant.

Totally. There's always been something missing to me about GTA games, and I think its largely centered in the lack of character progression.

Regardless, looks rad. Other sites have been saying that Press releases indicate its a PC, PS3, and 360 title.

Thought the ambient animation looked a little stiff but the action animation seemed to flow pretty good, I'll keep an eye out for this game when released hopefully it doesn't disappoint like "I am alive"

A nice touch when he sets up the crash at the traffic lights and the npc with the umbrella goes to check on the crash victims.

Looking good.

The concept is really interesting, it doesn't sound that far fetched either to be honest, which is a little scary. I like how it came up with brief details of each person he was looking at. The only thing that looked a little weak was the driving at the end.

Looks interesting. A mix of GTAIV, with a Heavy Rain look. I hope it is truly open world though.

I mean it really does sound amazing - but I'm hesitant in that it kind of reminds me of those amazing LA Noire trailers - and Rockstar have long been one of my favourite developers - and in the end it ended up being such a linear experience it almost ruined it... but I guess gaming is moving forward all the time (or at least it seems that way) and we are constantly experiencing new things that weren't previously possible - so I remain ever hopeful.

I've been hearing alot about this game, I just watched the E3 gameplay demo to see what all the fuss is about, and now I see... this is going to be amazing. Makes me think of a of GTA/Assassins Creed hybrid, which can only be a good thing. Wow, can't wait for this. Ubisoft owned E3 imo.
