“Are you ready to rumble?!” So many legendary moments in wrestling-history have begun with those immortal words. Now it’s time to enter the ring and recreate or rewrite one of those legendary fights as Legends of WrestleMania is set to hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this March to coincide with WrestleMania 25. Unfortunately, this isn’t necessarily a good thing; over the past few Smackdown! vs Raw releases there have been some serious issues with bugs – stalling in SVR 08 and slow down in SVR 09 - that should have been fixed before release.

There’s a slew of classic wrestlers such as the late Andre the Giant and The Ultimate Warrior, mixed with some more modern legends such as Steve Austen and The Rock on hand. With these legends you will be able to play classic match-ups such as the “ultimate challenge” from WrestleMania VI where the Ultimate Warrior defeated Hulk Hogan for the title; you will be able recreate Ultimate Warrior’s victory or give him the boot as Hulk.

This is the confirmed roster:

Wrestlers
Hulk Hogan
André the Giant
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin
The Rock
The Ultimate Warrior
Rowdy Roddy Piper
Bret "Hitman" Hart
Shawn "HBK" Michaels

Managers
Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart
Bobby "The Brain" Heenan

Ring announcer
Howard Finkel

Commentators
Colour Commentator, Jerry "The King" Lawler and play-by-play Commentator, Jim Ross

As it stands, the roster is looking a little thin, although a few classic tag-teams such as the Legion of Doom and Demolition will probably be added before release. Legends of Wrestlemania will also tout an import feature so players can bring over their Smackdown! vs Raw 09 wrestlers for a little “new vs old” action - Randy Ortan will feel right at home being the “legend killer”.

Keep an eye out for Legends of WrestleMania this March.

Yeah, that would have been one of Acclaim's Legends of Wrestling games. They were pretty bad.

Oh yeah Michael Buffer used to announce the main events of the pay-per-views. I still don't really remember anything that great though, which is weird because I used to love WCW.
