About Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013

Magic: The Gathering Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 is the third title in the next-gen Magic: The Gathering series. It is, by all accounts, one of the biggest collectable card games available, in addition to being the first of its kind created.

The game puts you in the role of a “planeswalker”, which is effectively a powerful wizard who uses mana to create creatures, artifacts, and spells. You pick up new cards each turn, which can include a mix of any of the aforementioned - at random - which you then have to summon into the game in order to use them.

Most important are land cards, which are a type of mana which, when “tapped”, allow you to summon a creature, spell, or artifact with the appropriate level of mana. The actual game’s depth is far too complex to explain here, and really needs to be played to fully appreciate, but the aim is effectively to beat other planeswalkers, both real and AI in games, with up to four players playing in any one hand.

Look... just saying... two 30-card decks aren't enough for two people to play with. One deck requires a minimum of 60 cards. So the reason Wizards has given you two 30-card decks is so that a beginner could actually play with a single, LEGAL deck. This is only enough for one person.

I imagine they're the tutorial decks available free from any card shop.
What WOULD be cool would either be a deck constructor's toolkit or a few intro packs and/or booster packs, or some promo cards or something.

The 30 card packs are the physical equivalent of the demo of duels 13, or the interactive online demo wizards offer on their website.
Couple of useful cards perhaps but there's only commons, a couple uncommons and lands in them if I'm correct.

Just picked this up on the Summer Steam sale for $9.99USD, I'm new to Magic The Gathering, the game has a pretty easy to follow tutorial, and if you have a slight interest in strategic card games, this is pretty good.

I got into Yu-gi-oh thinking it was less complicated, but very similar mechanics.
