AT A GLANCE

The Good: Comes with an awesome steering wheel. "The Wii controller should make for a fun racing game."
The Bad: The original Xbox game was a bit pants.
The Ugly: The fights that break out for the steering wheel during mini-games.

Like the recently previewed GT Pro Series, Monster 4X4: World Circuit is a port, this time from the original Xbox. And just like GT Pro, Monster 4X4 will come with a steering wheel attachment for your Wii remote.

The game itself is an arcade racer, one reminiscent of the original Destruction Derby titles. It also throws a bit of Mario Kart and Wipeout into the mix by having power-ups and weapons. Players will also be able to enjoy a range of fully destructible environments.

In addition to the main game, there is also a collection of mini-games. One such game is soccer, which sees players kicking around a jumbo-sized soccer ball with their monster trucks. With the new Wii remote, these mini-games will surely be excellent fun. The only downside is that you’ll only get one steering wheel attachment.

Although Monster 4X4: World Circuit wasn’t an amazing Xbox game, the new Wii controls will allow this game to be more fun than it was on the Xbox. Since Excite Truck isn’t out until next year, Monster 4X4: World Circuit should tie you over nicely until then.
