AT A GLANCE
| The Good: More WarioWare; “Smooth Moves”. | "WarioWare will take advantage of the Wiimote in ways never seen before." |
| The Bad: Filler Minigames. | |
| The Ugly: The idea of Wario becoming the launch mascot. |
Nintendo’s long running WarioWare series has always taken advantage of the unique capabilities of every platform it’s release on. Now, it is headed for the Wii, and will take advantage of the Wiimote in ways never seen before.
In WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Wario has stumbled upon a strange device called a Form Baton. As expected, the Wiimote takes the roll of this baton. It will add new moves to learn and keep players swinging and spinning for hours in 200 mini-games.
There will be a wide variety of way to use it, too; some games will have you holding the Wiimote like a frying pan, while others will have you using the Wiimote as a pointer. In a way, this is Nintendo’s way of showing us what their new controller can pull off, and it works. No doubt, the Wiimote control scheme will make this a good workout title.
