Here we are again! Stick around as Nintendo prepares to wow us in 2010 with all manner of things. Can they unveil any real surprises? Will we see more of the new Zelda? Let's find out!
3:59 - Wow, watching the All Whites (draw!!) combined with getting up for the press conferences does not equal sleep!
4:04 - Reggie kicks things off by referencing Sony and Microsoft's recent motion attempts! Aaaaand Zelda! "Skyward Sword".
4:06 - Miyamoto explaining that new Zelda will have better-integrated motion controls. Time for a...demo?
4:07 - Haha, pre-recorded Miyamoto just became real-life Miyamoto. Don't ask. Now Mr. Nintendo is onstage himself to explain the new Zelda controls.
4:09 - Link's sword is much more motion-based now. Translator just said it was 1:1 control, but we shall see. Graphical style looks based on Twilight Princess, by the way, but a bit brighter and friendlier.
4:10 -Charge up your sword by holding it up towards the sky. And many more motion-based moves!
4:12 - That's cool - some enemies have shields, and will place their shields in relation to where your sword is. You'll need to swing around them in different angles to defeat them.
4:13 - You know what? By opening with the new Zelda, I think this year's Nintendo conference is already better than last year's...
4:15 - Motion controls playing up! Translator references Steve Jobs' "Anyone using wireless devices?" line.
4:18 -Urgh, things really aren't going well for the motion controls. For what it's worth, I believe them when they say it all ran fine during rehearsal!
4:19 - Zelda will be on the show floor - expect hands-on impressions from the boys soon!
Oooo: and it isn't coming out this year. But that's okay, because here's a...trailer! Right?
4:21 -Reggie back on. "Zelda is just the beginning today. There's a lot more to come."
4:23 - NBA Jam was name-dropped. But Reggie has moved on to... a new Mario sports game!
4:23 - Volleyball, hockey, dodgeball, basketball. It's called Mario Sports Mix, and will be coming in 2011.
4:25 - "Last year, you heard that Wii momentum was starting to wane." But, Reggie says: they were wrong. Very wrong. He's continuing to dispel myths about the Wii.
Stop press: Wii owners actually do play their Wiis!!!!
4:26 - Essentially: "Got a negative view or assumption about the Wii? Well you're wrong! Hah!"
4:27 - Wii Party is up. "An all-new party game for Wii." Thanks, friendly and anonymous narrator voice thing!
4:28 - Wow...one person clapped? C'mon guys, it's Wii Party. Wii Party!!
And now...a Just Dance sequel.
4:30 - Golden Sun DS! These developers were responsible for Shining Force, so I'm automatically interested in whatever they do.
4:31 - Golden Sun: Dark Dawn coming this holiday season.
4:32 - GoldenEye reveal, huh? Why yes, I do think so. I do think so indeed.
4:33 - Split-screen and online multiplayer. And...Daniel Craig as Bond? You got Daniel Craig in my Pierce Brosnan! Madness.
4:34 - Coming this holiday. Savvy blending of casual with hardcore titles here, Reggie. And the titles keep coming...
4:34 - Epic Mickey up next!
4:35 - Warren Spector onstage! Here to do a live demo. Let's see how this thing looks...
4:36 - Intriguing graphics - they look like old-school animation. Oh wait, now they've cut to in-game graphics. Doesn't look too bad.
4:37 - Drawing and erasing is a bit gameplay technique. Lots of things can be restored or erased - objects, characters, even the ground. "Play style matters" says Spector - it's up to you how you restore the world.
4:38 - It's like Mickey Deus Ex! Or not, but he is certainly talking up choice and decision making.
4:40 - Mickey is now in a travel zone, side-scrolling levels based rather literally on old, old Mickey cartoons. Wow, I remember that cartoon - looks pretty neat!
4:42 - Talking up Kirby, who hasn't had a staring role in a home console game in seven years, apparently. Kirby fans in the audience, it seems.
4:43 - Cutesey trailer time for new Kirby! Side-scrolling 2D gameplay really is in vogue right now. Again.
4:44 - Intriguing: it's all based around a 'spin a yarn' theme, with Kirby largely represented as a morphing pile of thread. Looks better than I just described it.
4:46 - Talking up Dragon Quest IX multiplayer, among other things.
4:47 - Coming out Stateside in "just 26 days". Pause for applause that doesn't come.
4:48 - And now, Metroid: Other M! Interesting mix of first-person with...well, not-first-person gameplay.
4:48 - Looks purdy. That is all.
4:49 - Coming August 31st!
4:50 - New Donkey Kong title - another side-scrolling platformer. Looks cool, and my nostalgia gene is jumping up and down, in a figurative sort of way.
4:51 - Donkey Kong Country Returns, coming this holiday.
4:52 - Aaaand I sense some talking about the 3DS coming. Just a hunch...
4:53 - Hah, Reggie is taking shots at 3D tech that requires glasses. Hear hear!
4:54 - Okay, reveal trailer playing for 3DS. Let's see what this thing is like...
4:55 - Camera zooming in on a 3DS onstage. Looks like...a closed DS! Mr. Iwata onstage, picking it up.
4:56 - 3.5" widescreen display for top screen. Full 3D graphics without need for glasses, although we already knew that.
4:57 - 3D slider to adjust the 3D effect - you can have it on, off, or anywhere in between.
4:58 - Only the bottom screen is a touchscreen, still.
4:58 - Graphics have been improved. Well thank goodness for that.
4:59 - Slide pad (sorta analogue stick), and motion controls. Has compatibility with DSi, of course. Two camera lenses on the outside - you can take 3D photos, which should be pretty interesting.
5:00 - 3DS can also display 3D Hollywood movies. Now that's pretty interesting. 3D trailers can be viewed at the Nintendo booth.
5:02 - Trailer up for a key 3DS title. And it's...hahaha, well the fanboys will go nuts. It's Kid Icarus. Go on, oldschool boys and girls, wet your pants.
5:03 - Possibly motion controls used while flying? Also ground combat. Graphics look on par with...I dunno, a very good looking iPhone game? No, I'd say better.
5:04 - Kid Icarus playable at E3. Go forth, NZG staff on the ground!
5:04 - Iwata talking about how the 3D effect allows you to better navigate 3D worlds.
5:05 - Now discussing how the 3DS will continue to talk to wifi networks and other 3DS' even when asleep. Not quite sure why, just yet...
5:06 - Oh okay, just allows new content to get pushed to your system.
5:07 - 3D version of Nintendogs coming...NOW WITH CATS!
5:08 - Iwata name-dropping some of the publishers developing for 3DS. Saints Row gets derisive laughs. Wow, he's confirming Res Evil, Metal Gear Solid, others. Nice.
5:10 - Iwata heading off, now a trailer of developers and their initial impressions of the 3DS. Shockingly, it's all positive! Hideo Kojima, others all give their thoughts.
5:12 - Reggie back on, summing up: Zelda, Mario, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Golden Sun, GoldenEye, Metroid, Kid Icarus. Good lord, they really did listen to criticism from last year, didn't they?
5:13 - They're rolling a trailer to try and express how the 3DS will look and feel. Oh I see, an animated Mario pops out of a 3DS and grabs Mr. Iwata. Hah, and now Miyamoto is up. I think he's about to get abducted by a Nintendog...
5:14 - 3DS Zelda, Star Fox teased?
5:16 - "We're going to let all of you here in the Nokia Theatre travel to the third dimension right now." Pretty ladies walking onstage with 3DS' strapped to them (in a non-dodgy way). Wow, there's a ton of them!
5:19 - Aaand playable Zelda right here, right now. I think Mr. Sam Prescott, editor of NZGamer and big Nintendo fan, is a happy chap right now. ;)
5:20 - And that's that! What be your thoughts, ladies and gents?

3DS looks great and the software lineup looks amazing. I'm betting this thing will be pretty expensive given all it's features. Well worth it though i'd think.
