Live Text Updates Follow. (Showing newest first):

5:12am - A 10 second clip is shown of some fireworks overtop of NintendoLand, and the show comes to an end. That's it!

5:11am - Reggie wants to finish with one more look at NintendoLand. Not sure that's really what people are wanting to see..

5:10am - Reggie sounds like he's wrapping things up. "In a world with more obligations and less time.. the promise of Wii U is simple. Together. Better."

5:09am - Oh, remember go to e3.nintendo.com for more information. Man, they're really pushing this.

5:08am - NintendoLand will launch at the same time as the Wii U hardware, this holiday.

5:05am - The trailer rolls for NintendoLand. It's overly colourful, bright and happy. A train circles around showing the different gates to the attractions.

5:03am - Luigi's Ghost Mansion mini-game demo is shown. It's like a reverse pacman, the players must track down the ghosts, although they can't see the ghost. Players must work together to track them down.

5:02am - You can play five players, four on Wii U console, and one on the Wii U Gamepad. "Asynchronous gameplay" are the words of the week.

5:01am - "I wanted NintendoLand to be a place visitors from all over the world could gather, and I wanted the visitors to sense that. What will make this a reality is Miiverse."

4:59am - It's a game where your Mii can visit a virtual theme park. There are 12 different attractions. We see a demo for the ninja castle. It appears to be mini-game style gameplay.

4:58am - NintendoLand is a new game for Wii U that will "make you understand" the new console. "Play it and the second screen takes on new meaning".

4:57am - Again, another prompt for us to go to e3.nintendo.com. Perhaps we will Nintendo, perhaps we will.

4:56am - Reggie holds the Wii U camera to his face, a we see a zombiefied Reggie.

4:54am - Time for Zombi U. The Wii U Gamepad can be used as an x-ray effect, or sniper scope. We also see a combination code being entered on the gamepad so that the character can escape on the TV.

4:53am - Xavier asks Reggie how he liked being the puppet master. Reggie respons "Being the puppet master? It's like running Nintendo of America!"

4:52am - Some dancers take to the stage to dance along as Reggie watches on the Wii U Gamepad. Where's Usher at?

4:51am - Xavier Poix, Managing Director of Ubisoft French Studios, is here to display some games. We start of with Just Dance 4.

4:50am - "Players playing the same game can interact with content across two different screens".

4:50am - He says the Wii U "is an important innovation".

4:49am - CEO of Ubisoft takes the stage to display some of their games for Wii U.

4:48am - "We're also happy to announce that an exclusive portable version of Lego City Undercover also in the works."

4:46am - Reggie is back to introduce Lego City Undercover. We see how you can use the Wii U Gamepad to interact with the TV experience.

4:44am - Again, reminds us to watch more details at e3.nintendo.com tomorrow. Before he goes, a quick peak at the third party line-up. Castlevania, Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.

4:43am - "What 3DS is about to get a health dose of is Luigi". Luigi's Mansion.

4:41am - Paper Mario Sticker Star. The big new feature are the stickers that are stuck to the scenary. You can pull them off and use them as a weapon. A shoe sticker lets you stamp on enemies.

4:40am - New Super Mario Bros. 2 on 3DS. "It's clearly different from the game Reggie talked about earlier". It's all about the gold. Will be available August 19th.

4:40am - He says at 6pm Pacific tomorrow night there's going to be full hour dedicated to 3DS games. I guess they're not really going to talk about them at this conference.

4:39am - For some Nintendo 3DS news, here's Scot Moffitt, Executive VIce President of Sales and Marketing.

4:37am - The Wii U Gamepad shows the lyrics, while the TV is displaying a pretty terrible animated dancing routine.

4:36am - SiNG. A new singing game for Wii U.

4:35am - We see a happy couple doing all sorts of excersises, racking up the calories. Apparently the girl has finished her workout so she changes the TV to a nature channel. The guy still has to keep going, so he uses the Wii U Gamepad by itself to keep the workout going. A "Fit Meter" was briefly seen. Looks like a tamagotchi.

4:34am - "Now Wii Fit U adds another peripheral". We take a look at a trailer.

4:33am - Wii U will make both of the Music and Fitness genres even better. He mentions how three years ago people laughed at him when he used the balance board for the first time.

4:32am - Darksiders II, Mass Effect 3, Tank! Tank! Tank!, Tekken Tag Tournament, Trine 2: Director's Cut, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, Aliens Colonial Marines.

4:31am - Reggie is back on stage. "Let's take a look at more of whats on the way". Cue trailers.

4:29am - Time for Scribblenauts Unlimited. "Now in HD." We see a trailer where a person creates a "Auto Mutt" through the creation mode. It's a dog with wheels, and you're able to share your creations with others.

4:28am - "The most immersive Batman experience has arrived".

4:27am - The Wii U Gamepad acts as a glorified inventory for selecting weapons.

4:26am - The BAT mode is new to the Wii U version. It's a meter that can be filled up, and once maxed out, can be enabled to make Batman more powerful.

4:24am - A new version called Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition will be heading to Wii U. A trailer starts. "There's some awesome new features specifically designed for this new console."

4:23am - Batman: Arkham City heading to Wii U. Martin Tremblay from Warner Bros. Interactive is here.

4:22am - Trailer for New Super Mario Bros. U. It is indeed a Mario game! "You may notice something called Boost Mode". Four players can use their Wii U Remotes to play through, with one more using the Wii U Gamepad to add blocks to the level. The game can also be transferred from TV to the Wii U Gamepad.

4:20am - A new Mario game - New Super Mario Bros. U. You'll be able to connect with other Miis within the game, and use the chat features.

4:19am - You can see or send simple text messages, or even use the stylus to send images to other Miis. It's browser based, which means it may eventually be available on 3DS, PC, etc.

4:18am - Reggie shows off the screen you'll see when you turn on Wii U. It's called Miiverse. "Think of it as Main Street". There's a tonne of Miis running around.

4:18am - It's almost a presentation video for a fancy shmancy smartphone.

4:16am - A introduction video for the Wii U Gamepad is shown. Included stylus, L/R Analog sticks, Trigger buttons on the back, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Rumble. Built-in camera and microphone, stereo speakers, headphone jack, and more.

4:15am - Wii U will support two seperate Gamepads!

4:14am - Reggie reminds us all to check out e3.nintendo.com (doesn't he know NZGamer.com is the best place for all E3 2012 coverage?).

4:14am - This E3 will be about the games, they'll touch upon entertainment at a later date.

4:14am - Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Amazon Video. All these are mentioned to be included for Wii U. "Games, Social, Entertainment".

4:13am - "At its core, Wii U does three different things. It changes your gaming, it changes how you interact with your gaming friends, and it changes the way you enjoy your TV."

4:11am - Reggie takes the stage! They'll have 23 Wii U titles on display this morning.

4:08am - Challenge mode will be playable at the show. You can have up to four leaders, who can be thrown around to get to hard to reach places. "It's an all new Pikmin game".

4:08am - We go through and see some of the new features. You can touch and drag to move across the map. The game can be played exclusively on the Wii U gamepad.

4:07am - It's a lot more "high-definition" than anything we've seen from Nintendo before. It looks very nice.

4:06am - Miyamoto says that he really wanted to create a new Pikmin on Wii U. Introducing Pikmin 3.

4:05am - "There will be no need to wait to power on your TV to weigh yourself in Wii Fit, and because you can use the sub-screen simultaneously it will change the way you watch television in the livingroom."

4:04am - "This independent screen changes the importance of gaming machines, which have always relied on a screen."

4:03am - Miyamoto takes the stage. And we're starting off talking about the Wii U.

4:00am - Nice and early. Here we go!

I think the show wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either, I don't know why Nintendo is holding so much back? Retro studios is clearly working on something awesome having developers from Naughty Dog join them, so why not at least show a hint as to what it is?.
They had a chance to show alot more but didn't and now is their time to try and wow us, I trust in the 3rd party developers raving about the hardware and power of the machine, but Nintendo only showed us games that barely dent the hardware at all. if they have more up their sleeve thats fine, but this was their main show and it should have been shown here.

The show was ok but the only thing that really stood out to me was ZombiU which looks pretty cool, I was hoping to see Zelda on Wii U but hopefully we will see some more cool stuff in next few days

I'm predicting NintendoLand wil be bundled with the console, Great to hear from Ubisoft that AC3 will be a launch title, but Nintendo really dropped the ball with their conference, their inhouse developers are working on big titles as one designer from Naughty Dog being their chief enviroment artist for Uncharted 1-3 who is now at Retro Studios as a Enviroment artist has said that the secret title they are working on may be the highlight of his career as an artist???? and the Uncharted series is one of the best franchises from this generation?? so WHY WOULD NINTENDO HOLD THIS INFO BACK??????
It seems strange that only little was shown and sure they only had an hour but showning logos or even mentioning new games would have been better then WiiU Fit and Just Dance 4, as fun as these games are for some we can all be honest we wanted more core titles and info on the actual console it self, plus online features and services, I just don't get it Nintendo, this show was yours to win but Sony takes that spot and Ubisoft had the best presentation by far.

OH well atleast Scotland beat the Wallabies at rugby :)

I don't know on the one hand I'd say Nintendo is still "behind" with the WiiU, but then I thought that of the Wii to & surprisingly that worked out pretty good for them

As a day one buyer of Nintendo Wii, I have never regretted that purchase. I have had endless fun with my family on that console. Some of my favourite gaming memories are playing together on a single screen in one room. Nintendo is the only company that understands this. While I was a little skeptical a year ago, I am now sold. I think the Wii U will sell like hotcakes just like the Wii. They have an established fan base of new and old gamers and once the kids start nagging their parents the wallets will start opening. They also have a year head start on the other two big players. Questions still remain though: price; bundled contents; and backwards compatibility with both games and existing Wii controllers.

Everything you own for your Wii will work on the Wii U, which is great and needed to happen.
I can see Nintendos approach with their new console and can tell that the core games for so called "Hardcore Gamers" will come when ready, they are just getting that the console is a super Wii and that their is fun to be had by all at the moment , and not just focusing on one market of gamers.
I was a bit disapointed by their press conference but after the dust settled and I take a look at the launch/launch window games who can complain really?, it's a solid lineup, I think alot of people who read all the juicy rumours around the web got sucked in to all the hype and had higher expectations of Nintendo this year.
All I can say to those people is don't fret, The AAA games will come and I think there is more 3rd party goodness to be shown in the next 2 months, there whole show was focused on games that wil be available at launch or the few weeks after, they could have come out and said that Metroids and Zelda's are coming and wowed everyone, but we know they will come anyway, all they did was show what will be available at launch and that is what the people who will buy on day one wan't to see, if your not happy with any of the games at launch, just wait, like the 3DS the AAA games will come.

The DSE page is still there, looks like its $799 but it doesnt give any bundle details yet, just the console basics.
