Ghost Recon Wildlands Gets Open Beta for PvP Mode

Runtime: 1:13    Author: UbisoftANZ    Category: Trailers

In preparation for Ghost Recon Wildlands’ upcoming PvP mode, developer Ubisoft will be hosting an open beta. Everyone will have access to the beta, which is scheduled for September 21 - 25.

From the press release:

In Ghost War, two groups of players will take part in a four-versus-four (4v4) team deathmatch experience that builds on the tactical squad play from the main game, where strategy is equally as important as skill. Teams will choose from a roster of varied classes across three categories – Assault, Marksman and Support – that fill specific roles on the battlefield as they navigate large-scale open maps and take down their enemies.

The open beta will be available for pre-load starting September 20. The full mode will release as a free update to all owners of Ghost Recon Wildlands in spring.

I actually have mixed thoughts about this, probably because I'm not a huge fan of PvP. While it will probably prove to be fun and I will likely give it a go, I would rather that they had actually spent time on some more challenging PvE content. Not every game has to deliver the same kind of PvP and PvE content as every other game. I would really like some longer more complicated missions (think raid like) along the vein of a mix of what was delivered in the Fallen Ghosts expansion and the Tier systems.
