The Witcher Celebrates 10th Anniversary with This Heartfelt Video

Runtime: 2:08    Author: WitcherGame    Category: Trailers

CD Projekt Red has released a new video, celebrating The Witcher’s 10th anniversary. The first game made its first debut in 2007 on PC. Subsequent releases then expanded out to include consoles.

From the video description:

Time flies when you’re in great company. Join Geralt of Rivia as he reminisces about the 10 years it’s been since you’ve first joined him on his adventures in The Witcher series of games.

Other prominent characters are also featured, including Triss, Zoltan, and Ciri.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt released in 2015 to critical acclaim. It was followed by two expansions: Hearts of Stone, and Blood and Wine.

You do not want to play it beyond 2017...
And porting the controls over to console would be a legit nightmare because... well, you won't want to play it beyond 2017 haha.

Or have you already played it?? I could never come up with a way myself for the controls to be ported over effectively but I'm not clever.

If you haven't played it, the first game is /real real rough/

Combat way more timing based, the translation was all over the place.

If you're curious, the game should run on most PCs.

I'm playing it now for the first time and I don't see the roughness to it yet. Just click when it glows? I'm only just inside vizema though.

Nah, haven't played it. Played the second one twice and the third one once and going to play it again. I would just like to see where it all started.

I feel you man you should definitely just get it on PC for like $5 or $10. It's destined for mouse + keys. It will run on anything if you set your settings to minimal (you just can't see beyond the fog of vision).

The Witcher series is troubling, partially because the source material is decidedly mediocre, and the first game was basically a trash fire. But Assassins of Kings was on point, and I've made my opinions on TW3 abundantly clear (it's the best game of pretty much the last decade). And that Netflix series, even though it's based on the books instead of games, because complete lack of common sense, that might be good.

So I have mixed feelings, mostly summed up with 'Gimme Cyberpunk', 'Gimme a Ciri spinoff', and 'Oh God [insert dead character's name] you were too pure for this world'.

... I really love The Witcher.

The Witcher 3 was probably the best story-telling game I have ever played - never felt more invested in a world and in stories than while playing that game! Great memories!
