Fans Remaking Tomb Raider 2 in Unreal Engine 4

Runtime: 2:05    Author: Nicobass2015    Category: Game Footage

A new fan project is in the works, and this one hopes to bring Tomb Raider II into the modern age. Titled The Dagger of Xian, the game reimagines Lara’s 1997 adventure in Unreal Engine 4.

As Kotaku reports, the project has been in development for a while now. A demo version has been made available to download on PC, but you can also take a look at the video above to see the game’s opening area in action.

Publishers haven’t been kind to fan projects recently. Last year saw standalone Pokemon game Uranium cease active development, while a Metroid 2 remake was issued a DMCA takedown notice from Nintnedo.

I love fan made projects but it's so risky. The pokemon Uranium one was especially great.

But the devs have to be aware of the risk, though the companies do get a chance to win some goodwill allowing them.

Looks pretty cool, although it is missing the tiger at the beginning :).

I like it... I think ... It made me feel a little nostalgic, but I wonder if I would be frustrated by the actual game now ??
