Until Dawn Prequel The Inpatient Gets Release Date

Runtime: 0:57    Author: PlayStation    Category: Trailers

The Inpatient – the prequel to Supermassive’s slasher Until Dawn – has a release date. The PlayStation VR horror game will hit Sony’s console later this year, on November 22.

Here’s the description, from the store page:

Discover true fear at the abandoned Blackwood Pines Sanatorium.

Awaken into a living nightmare as a patient with no memory of who you are – in a spine-chilling mystery set 60 years before the events of PS4™ hit Until Dawn.

Live the horror through the immersion of VR as deep, personal fears, psychological terror and heart-shredding jump scares wait in the darkness.

Explore with simple VR controls, hear every creak, bang and scream with true 3D audio, and talk to characters through innovative voice recognition.

Wrestle with moral dilemmas and decide who to trust, but beware… you don’t know what’s around the next corner and your choices will have consequences.

The game also promises to have multiple endings based on players’ decisions.

This isn’t the first Until Dawn virtual reality title. Last year saw the release of on-rails shooter Rush of Blood. Reviewer Bronwyn James felt the game toned down on the jump-scares and gore of the source material, but praised its replayability.

The Inpatient comes to PlayStation 4 exclusively on November 22.

I didn't realise it was a prequel!? I was trying to not get hyped so i didn't feel bad if i couldn't afford it. I cant wait to see people getting wendigot.

Also that date was already in my calendar and I don't know where I heard it. It certainly wasn't from work and I tend to get all my gaming news here. Spooky.

It takes a huge deposit, but you might be able to rent one? I know my local Civic video has one they rent out (cause I sold it to them). You can get through Until Dawn Rush of Blood in about 4-6 hours if you solidly jam it. This one should be quite a bit longer, since its a full game and Rushbof Blood was only $35ish.

Rush of Blood was absolutely one of the better PSVR launch titles.
