Overwatch is getting another Summer Games seasonal event next week. From August 9 - 29, players can duke it out on a new Lucioball map, unlock brand new skins, and get another shot at last year’s cosmetics too.
Lucioball has had some mechanical tweaks since last year, with the ability to “boop” players with Lucio's soundwave removed. Further, his ultimate will no longer pull the ball towards the player, but will instead increase movement speed and reduce the “boop” cooldown.
The mode will rotate between last year’s Rio stadium, and a new one set in Sydney.
If you’re looking to unlock some cosmetics, here’s the rundown via press-release:
Skins from Summer Games 2016 will be available for purchase at a reduced cost compared to the new 2017 skins.
New 2017 Summer Games Cosmetic Items will cost the following:
- Legendary Skins: 3,000 credits
- Epic Skins: 750 credits
- Rare tier: 225 credits
- Common tier: 75 credits
Previous Summer Games cosmetics will be available to craft at a reduced cost:
- Legendary Skins: 1,000 credits
- Epic Skins: 250 credits
- Rare tier: 75 credits
- Common tier: 25 credits
Overwatch’s Summer Games 2017 will run from August 9 - 29 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
