Gran Turismo Sport Gets Release Date

Runtime: 0:34    Author: sonyplaystation    Category: Trailers

Originally slated for a 2016 release, the latest entry in Sony’s flagship racing franchise finally has a launch date. Gran Turismo Sport will hit PlayStation 4 on October 18 in Europe.

“We’ve strived to create something that delivers an unprecedented experience in terms of the graphics, sound and physics simulation; an experience that can only be enjoyed on PlayStation,” writes president of Polyphony Digital Kazunori Yamauchi on the PlayStation Blog.

Gran Turismo Sport was originally slated to release in November 2016, but was then pushed back to 2017 to allow for extra polish. The game has been playable at both E3 2017 and E3 2017.

We’ll keep you updated if the New Zealand release date differs from Europe’s.

I hope its good, but with delays I keep having a bad feeling about a potential Driveclub V2: Gran Turismo edition.

Excellent! It's finally here! With Forza 7 coming this year as well it's shaping up to be a great release year for sim racers

One month after Project Cars 2 - If PC2 lives up to the hype I don't think GT will get a look in.

Honestly I hope the final build is a big step up from the beta. The matchmaking is awesome with crashy drivers being filtered out but the actual driving is kinda meh. Even if it's crap I'm sure it will gain a big audience though just though the name gran tourismo. I'm very interested to see how it plays out

October is insane for game releases this year! GT Sport, Super Mario Odyssey, Wolfenstein, Forza 7, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, South Park, Destiny 2, AC Origins, Evil Within 2?! Madness!

Im the other way. SInce it has the name Gran Turismo I wont get it (unless it reviews phenomenally) - they haven't made a good one since A-spec imo. I think Forza has done a far better job of getting better over the last 10 odd years. GT feels so dated.

I agree, I can't see how GT is going to be superior in anyway to Project CARS 2.

But surely GT has got to be doing something right if it can help you gain an official FIA motorsport licence right? Isn't that the promise of GT Sport? That the time done sim racing will count under FIA regulations? I enjoy the Forza series as well but I don't think GT has stagnated...

The Photo mode in GT Sport is going to be incredible I suspect. I can't remember where but I saw a video where Yamauchi-san was talking bout his passions and how GT sport was going to be a culmination of his collective passions, one of which was photography, and he had a whole table full of camera lenses shown in the video. Now imagine a photo mode where you actually get to pick your brand/type of lens to take those shots... I suspect something like this will be coming in GT sport

I'm getting it either way.
Must get the platiunum to add to the GT5/GT6 collection :D

I've played the Gt Sport beta and demo and I find the feel of the game is not as good as Project CARS has been for the last 2 years.

It certiantly looks pretty and the online concept and rating systems are pretty neat but if it doesn't feel right then it's not good

If the best you got is a license and photomode you just turned me off it more. Couldn't care less. I'm here to play games, and haven't seen a great improvement in driving or AI in the GT series in the last gen, so not holding my breath. Like others have said here Project Cars seems better than it already, and Forza I know is already better. I'd definitely go PC2 over GT.
