Street Fighter 5’s next DLC Character Revealed

Runtime: 1:29    Author: CapcomSF    Category: Trailers

Developer Capcom has announced Street Fighter V’s next DLC character; Ed will be joining the game as part of the Season 2 Character Pass. As Eurogamer reports, he’s a clonse of M. Bison that was adopted by Balrog.

Here’s the official description:

Ed, the young commander, is the next character to join Street Fighter 5 as part of the Season 2 Character Pass. Previously appearing in the story of Street Fighter 4 and Super Street Fighter 4, Ed's experimental body aged him beyond his years until he was ready for battle.

Having been raised by Balrog, his fighting is centered on boxing, but Ed is enhanced by the Psycho Power carried within his genes from M. Bison. Use this power to perform special moves like the Psycho Snatcher V-Skill, Psycho Cannon V-Trigger and Psycho Barrage critical art.

According to the Capcom Unity blog, Ed has very different inputs from other characters. Instead of stick motions and button presses, he only requires simultaneous button presses, repeatedly pressing a button, or holding down a button to perform his moves. Only his Critical Art requires a directional input.

Ed’s release date has yet to be confirmed.

Terrible character design as he is the only young Male character in the game so far. Many complaints on SRK about his over-bulkiness.

I don't really have a problem with his design other than the stupid ass hat. Interested to see how he plays with his motionless inputs.

Its nice to have a new "input style" option that may be more suited to the beginner fighting game players out there.
