Sonic Mania – the side scrolling throwback to the original games – has been delayed. Sega made the announcement at SXSW today, with the title being pushed back from its autumn release window, to winter.
To distract from the bad news, the developer and publisher shared a new video from the game. This one gives players a glimpse at Flying Battery Zone – a level which appeared previously in Sonic and Knuckles.
Sonic Mania will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
Polygon also reports that Sega’s other Sonic Game – previously titled Project Sonic – has been given a new name. Sonic Forces will be a 3D adventure starring both modern Sonic, and the classic era one. That game is also coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. New footage is expected to arrive tomorrow.
