Capcom has announced The Disney Afternoon Collection. The digital-only release will include six classic Disney games from the eight-bit era, presented in HD.

  • Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers
  • Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 2
  • Darkwing Duck
  • DuckTales
  • DuckTales 2

As Gematsu reports, some new modes will also be arriving as part of the collection. A rewind feature will let you roll the game back to whatever state. This is in addition to a Boss Rush mode, and Time Attack mode.

The Disney Afternoon Collection is set to launch on April 18 for $19.99 USD. We’ll keep you updated when New Zealand pricing and dates become available.

Not sure I like seeing 8 bit remakes even at cheap prices. I would rather 16 or 32 bit classic titles coming back.

The timing makes sense with the new Duck Tales cartoon about to come out as well.

Loved Duck Tales but I've never played the others. Duck Tales already had a remake/remaster though.

Aladdin, The Lion King, Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion, World of Illusion with Mickey and Donald - those were the ones I remember fondly.

I'm interested in giving them a go but not sure it's something I would have ever thought to ask for.

Someone needs to walk into Disney HQ dressed as Obi Wan, wave their hand passed the CEO's face and say "These aren't the games we're looking for."
