The latest firmware update will be arriving for PlayStation 4 systems tonight. Version 4.50 brings multiple new features, including external hard-drive support, PlayStation VR tweaks, and the Pro’s Boost mode.
Here’s some of the features, via the PlayStation Blog.
- Improved 2D Images on PS VR – the home screen on your TV will look sharper, and Cinematic Mode is getting a higher refresh rate if your screen size is set to small or medium.
- Voice Chat for Remote Play – if you’re streaming to your PC or Mac, you can now use a microphone.
- Off Console Availability – an icon shaped like a smartphone will appear next to users in your friends list, showing who is logged into PSN but away from their system.
