Nier: Automata – the character-action game from publisher Square Enix and developer PlatinumGames – just received an extended gameplay demo, courtesy of PlayStation Underground. In it, you’ll get a look at some of the game’s open world elements – including shops, towns, and exploration.
As Eurogamer points out, the game features a corpse-run element, in that players can re-acquire their dropped gear from where they fell in battle. As the main character is an android, reaching your former robotic-shell lets you repair it, where it can then aid you in battle. Failing to fix it however, will make it turn hostile.
These new systems are all accompanied by tight action, reminiscent of titles like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta. Bullet Hell gameplay also plays a major role. A new trailer was also released for the game, which you can view below.
Nier: Automata is set to release on PlayStation 4 on March 10. A PC version is in the works, but no release date has been given.
