Sony announced a new colour variant for the PlayStation 4 today. The “Glacier White” PlayStation 4 will be available on New Zealand shores on January 25, with a 500GB hard-drive, priced at $489.95 RRP. Europe will get them on January 24, while Japanese gamers will have to wait til February 23.
“Users will be able to choose the simple, elegantly designed standard PS4 system from two colours, the original ‘Jet Black’ and the new ‘Glacier White’ to enjoy an array of entertainment experiences that are only possible on PlayStation,” reads the press release.
Note that this colour variant is for the slimmer, base version of the PlayStation 4 – not the PlayStation 4 Pro. It’s unclear if the Pro will receive colour variants in the future, but a passage in the press release states that “SIE will continue to further enhance the entire PlayStation ecosystem by offering the choice of a variety of hardware models…”
