Capcom has started Street Fighter V’s latest season today. If you purchased the game’s 2017 Character Pass – currently $48.95 on the PlayStation Store – you’ll get access to Akuma, his story mode, and extra costumes. That pass will also give access to new characters and their costumes as they release.
The game’s 2016 Holiday Pack also released today. For $31.95 on the PlayStation Store, you’ll unlock six festive costumes, and a snowy version of the New York Stage. Check it out in action with the video above.
This new content also released alongside a hefty update, which brings several balance changes and system tweaks. The developer released a 92-page PDF going into detail. Here are some of the major changes:
Updated Rage Quit System – Players who frequently disconnect will receive a badge on their profile, publicly showing this information. Repeat offenders will find themselves matched up with other players displaying similar behaviour. League Points will be deducted whenever a players disconnects.
Direct Input Controller Support for PC - So my fight stick will finally work. Yay!
Invincible Moves - Those that don’t use meter (like Shoryuken) have had extra hurtboxes added to specific frames.
Normal Throws - Characters who could perform multiple throws at screen edges will now have a harder time doing so. This has buffed fighters with long reach and fast strikes, so those attacks have been tweaked to balance it out.
