Developer Niantic announced today that new creatures beyond the original 151 can now be found in Pokemon Go – their augmented reality, monster catching game. Specifically, baby Pokemon from Gold and Silver can be hatched from eggs.

From the press release:

Professor Willow has discovered Togepi and Pichu hatching from Eggs! Starting later today, Trainers will have the opportunity to hatch these and several other Pokémon that were originally discovered in the Johto Region in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games. These are the first of more Pokémon coming to Pokémon GO over the next few months.

To celebrate the holiday season, limited edition Pikachu will now pop up around the world. Each one will have a festive-themed hat. These creatures will be available until December 30, 7am NZT.

Have you hatched any new creatures? Let us know in the comments below!
