If you ever wondered just how insane the Doom modding community is, look no further than this: Doom (4) for Doom. The mod brings gameplay concepts, weapons, and sound effects from the 2016 release into the original game.

The latest version of the mod is slated to release on October 31 for Halloween in the US – so expect to be able to grab it over here on November 1.

Are there any impressive Doom mods you’ve seen recently? Anything you’d like modders to have a go at? Let us know in the comments below!

I wouldn't really call this insane modding, look at the Enderal mod, not that's impressive.

Well know what I'm downloading tomorrow. Also like how the video has the Hell Revealed 2 map pack as well which I will definitely give this a go with to see how difficult it is compared to the brutal doom version.

Or doesn't want you too?.. I can understand they want to keep comment numbers but not being able to edit is recipe for disaster. I tend to leave comments then never return to the scene of the crime, lol.

It's not quite as good as I was expecting, but I guess we're now spoilt with modern tech'. This video triggered my memory of the old Aliens mod for Doom (actually that might have been Doom 2, I don't recall) I hate to think how many hours I wasted on that back in the day...
