Pokémon Go Gets Spooky

Developer Niantic announced that Pokémon Go – their augmented reality, monster catching game – will be getting a Halloween-themed seasonal event. As GameSpot reports, the event will run from October 26 until November 1, and will make it easier for trainers to get their hands on some of the game’s spookier creatures.

The likes of Drowzee, Gastly, Gengar, Golbat, Haunter, Hypno, and Zubat will all appear more often during the event. In addition, every Pokémon you catch will now reward you with six Candies instead of three.

"It's been incredible watching people explore their neighbourhoods and catch wild Pokémon all summer," Niantic senior product manager Tatsuo Nomura said in a statement. "We would like to trick-or-treat in our own special way by giving Trainers the chance to catch more Pokémon and earn extra Candy this Halloween."

Zubat and Golbat are the only Pokémon from that list that I ever see. Hopefully this means I will see at least some of the others in the coming days.

Double candies! That's pretty awesome.
I don't have many abras nor gastlies and maybe not even a single drowzee or hypno so it's all good for me.

Oh... now if they had gone and made some regular pokemon spawns have a rare chance of a ghost or dark type move, that would have been pretty boss.
