Publisher Bandai Namco have picked up the eerie horror title Hunger from Swedish developer Tarsier. It's been renamed Little Nightmares and has received a short reveal trailer, which can be seen above.
Not much is known about the game. It will be an unsettling platformer that follows a young girl in a yellow raincoat, as she tries to escape terrifying creatures that want to eat her. If you’re played Limbo or Inside, the game’s inspirations become readily apparent. Here’s a longer look at the game in action, back when it was called Hunger.
"Little Nightmares symbolises the evolution of our strategy to further strengthen the company portfolio with titles developed from all over the world," said Bandai Namco VP of marketing and digital Hervé Hoerdt. "As we continue to explore new ways to experience our IPs, we couldn't have found a better partner than Tarsier Studios to fulfill this vision and we're extremely proud to show their incredible talent to the world by publishing their first in-house project."
"We are so thrilled to work together with Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, a company that takes great pride in their work and goes that extra mile to create amazing game experiences," added Tarsier Studios deputy CEO Andreas Johnsson. "From day one we've felt their passion and drive to help make Little Nightmares everything it can be".
The game has been confirmed for PlayStation 4, although the developer has teased it as coming to “consoles and PC.” Developer Tarsier’s previous projects include the 2012 version of LittleBigPlanet for Vita.
