The Witcher 3 Game of the Year Edition Announced

Runtime: 0:30    Author: WitcherGame    Category: Trailers

CD Projekt Red announced today that The Witcher 3 – their RPG hit from 2015 – will be getting a Game of the Year Edition.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition offers over 150 hours of open world adventures and sees players take on the role of professional monster slayer Geralt of Rivia, as he seeks out the child of prophecy in Wild Hunt, faces off against a ruthless bandit captain in Hearts of Stone, and unravels the terrifying secret of the beautiful region of Toussaint in Blood and Wine.

The collection – which is slated for an August 30 release – will feature both expansions (Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine) as well as all updates and incidental pieces of DLC. It’s currently slated for $49.99 USD. We’ll keep you updated when a New Zealand price becomes available.

Was there ever any doubt? Best game in years, the poster child for devs doing it right.

I'm always wary of the GOTY concept tbh. Yeah, it was a phenomenal game, but surely pretty much everyone who was gonna play it has, you know, already played it?

Actually I haven't played it yet .. and I may purchase the GOTY for the convenience of not having to worry about DLC etc (which is a concept that I still find messed up ... free updates yes.. but paying for an update still a hard pill to swallow)

This is what devs need to be like, not trying to scam their consumers

I honestly could not get into this game. Im not surprised at the timing if this announcement though. The price of the standard game dropped last week. But as for people having played it, there are still heaps of people who will buy the goty edition. People who want physical copies of dlc or who refuse to download expansions. New ps4/x1 players. People who have only just discovered the franchise or that they like RPGs.

I agree some game of the years are complete cash ins but this one deserves it.

Although was expecting a Gamescom announcement

If you haven't played it - get it! You'll be doing yourself a massive favour. Amazing game and you won't have to buy another one for 3-6 months.

Yeah, but the DLC in Witcher is exceptionally well made. Worth every dollar.
