Doom Gets Big Update, First Paid DLC Dated

Runtime: 1:38    Author: BethesdaSoftworksUK    Category: Trailers

Bethesda and id Software released a trailer for Doom’s free update, which is slated for release tomorrow.

The end of the trailer (above) also teases the first upcoming paid DLC. Titled Unto the Evil, it will be a multiplayer-only affair bringing a bevy of new content to the game’s online mode.

Here’s what to expect when the DLC drops on August 6:

  • Three new maps – Offering, Cataclysm, and Ritual
  • Player-controlled Harvester demon
  • New weapons – the UAC EMG Pistol, and Kinetic Mine
  • New armour sets and customisation options
  • New hack modules

Doom released in May earlier this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It received favourable critical acclaim, as it hearkened back to the original games by reproducing their speed and action.

I'm sure the eight people still playing Doom multiplayer are going to be stoked.

Personally, I found the MP tired and rather boring, where as the Single Player was fantastic. I would happily pay for new SP content if it was as good as the original missions.

no single-player content = no buy from me.
the SP of DooM was amazing, will suck if they don't expand on it.
