New Amiibos to release alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will provide the in-game Link with new weapons, and partners depend on which one you tap into the game. No release date for either the Amiibos or the new Zelda have been announced at this time.
Shown off during the Nintendo E3 2016 Treehouse Stream were Wolf Link, Archer Link, Rider Link, and a Guardian Amiibo: the Guardian one being first Amiibo to have posable parts with the ability to bend the arms.
At this stage only details for what Wolf Link will provide in-game have been announced, with Nintendo stating:
Players can tap Wolf Link amiibo to the Wii U GamePad controller, allowing Wolf Link to attack enemies on his own and help players to hunt. He has three hearts, unless players carry over save data from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. Wolf Link disappears when his hearts run out.
Wolf Link will have the number of hearts you've previously saved in Twilight Princess, and should he die in-game, it will take one day in real world time before you'll be able to call him back into Breath of the Wild. Other features of Wolf Link include his ability to fight, and take down prey: but won't pick up the meat; should you lose track of Wolf Link, you can whistle and he will run back to you, and later in the game he will be able to sniff out hidden items for you.
No release date for these new Amiibos or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild have been announced at this time, but when they release, they will be for the Wii U and NX.
