This week at E3, Insomniac Games unveiled a brand new Spider-Man game they're developing in conjunction with Marvel and Sony Interactive Entertainment. No release date has been announced, but when it does launch it will be exclusively for the Playstation 4.
The working title at this stage is Spider-Man PS4, and in a blog post on the Playstation Blog, Insomniac Games' Creative Direction, Bryan Intihar, stated that "Nope, this isn’t the same Spider-Man you’ve met before, nor is our game based on the upcoming movie."
Continuing, Bryan said:
This is a more seasoned Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his absurdly chaotic personal life and career. All while nine million New Yorkers depend on him for their safety… no pressure indeed.
The post also mentions that Insomniac want to introduce new elements that players have never experienced with a Spider-Man game before, ranging from traversing with parkour and utilizing the environment, to new combat and blockbuster set-pieces.
No release date has been set thus far for the new Playstation 4 exclusive Spider-Man game, but Insomniac Games have promised more information to release in the coming months.
