Wonder Boy III Is Getting Remastered

Runtime: 1:03    Author: DotEmu    Category: Trailers

DotEmu revealed a trailer today via press release for Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap – a remaster of the third game in the original series, which released for the Sega Master System back in 1989. The work done looks extensive in this remaster however, as the art and visual style has seen a complete overhaul.

The game is being developed by Parisian studio Lizardcube, and will be coming to PCs and consoles – it’s unclear which branded systems in particular though. No release date has been given.

You can check out a trailer for the game above, and get a sneak-peek at the hand-drawn art style and orchestral soundtrack.

Wow, never thought I'd see the day this happened. One of my all time favourite platformers from back in the day. Now please remaster Wonder Boy in Monster World as well :-)

Just had a massive nostalgia moment... even if this game looks so much different to the original title. This looks great.

Must admit, I've never played Wonder Boy, but damn if those aren't some beautiful sprites.

Someone give Commander Keen that treatment.

I'll be buying this. I actually played a bit of the original when I connected my Master System up a couple of weeks ago and still had a blast with it. This was one of my favourite games as a child and the remake looks like it'll definitely be worth it.

Great to see this.

I'd always wondered why it wasn't yet available on the PSN. I absolutely loved this game growing up. Def will be a day one purchase for me! Anyone have any ideas on what platforms this will be made for?
