Publisher Square Enix showcased some new trailers and character details for its upcoming action role-playing game – NieR: Automata – during its NieR Music Concert & Talk Live event in Tokyo over the weekend.
Here are some of the characters – both new and old – players can expect to see in the game:
2B – 2B is an all-purpose battle android, deployed as a member of the automated infantry squad, YoRHa. She is equipped with a sword for close quarters combat, and can attack from range using the “Pod” support system.
9S – 9S has an attack function, but it is an android that specializes in investigative purposes—a member of the automated infantry squad, YoRHa, who triumphs in hacking-based information collection.
A2 – A2 is a prototype model android within the automated infantry squad, YoRHa, not currently in use that specializes in close-range attacks.
During the event, the developers also showcased some gameplay. They went on to say that they are aiming at 1080p resolution, and 60 frames per second visuals.
NieR: Automata is set to release for PlayStation 4 in 2016.
