On March 22, 1996, players entered the world of survival horror.
Players were introduced to the schlocky-but-lovable cast of Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Albert Wesker, and the unforgettable Barry Burton – all within a tightly packed mansion full of zombies to run away from, and puzzles to solve. Reisdent Evil set the standard for what horror games could be, and the developers continued to make good on that by constantly innovating along the way.
To commemorate the date, Capcom intends to spend the rest of the year highlighting the creators of the franchise, through a series of interviews and commentaries. The first of such interviews features producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who has worked on the series since its inception.
I’ve been in love with the franchise ever since those zombie-dogs decimated me in ‘that hallway.’ What are some of your favourite Resident Evil moments? Sound off in the comments below.
