Red Barrels have officially announced Outlast II with a new teaser trailer released online last week.
Outlast II, the sequel to the 2013 hit horror title, promises to push "players to a place where going mad is the only sane thing to do" according to Red Barrels on Youtube. The trailer itself is rather vague, simply showing a burning cross that is slowly revealed to be upside down. Voice over of a what seems to be a preacher accompanies this imagery, with the game's signature night vision gameplay teased for inclusion as the screen transitions to that familiar green.
In addition to this, Red Barrels also released information on a planned Fall 2016 release (that's Spring 2016 here in New Zealand) in a twitter post announcing the teaser. The post promises that Outlast II will be a "new twisted adventure into the depths of the human mind and its dark secrets."
While no platforms have been announced thus far, the original game is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, making a release these a safe bet.
