Guerrilla Games have released a new video for Horizon: Zero Dawn, which shows footage from the E3 trailer for the game with some additional developer commentary.
"We've been doing, at Guerrilla, Killzone for more than a decade now; interiors, corridors, lot's of greys. We really wanted to do something beautiful" Senior Producer Mark Norris explains in the video. "So you had lots of blues, lots of greens inside that open world environment." He goes on to explain the modified Killzone engine has allowed Guerrilla to create a completely seamless open world.
Norris hints at some story elements, but the video mainly focuses on the main character Aloy's fight with the Thunder Jaw. Norris explains the strategy used to take the giant machine down, while also revealing that despite only having four slots on the weapon wheel, there are more than four weapons in the game, making loadout selections a part of that tactical decision-making.
Finally, Norris reveals that Horizon is a "fully-fledged RPG," with a perk system and experience points earned from slaying enemies, completing quests, and exploring the world.
Horizon: Zero Dawn is coming exlusively to PlayStation 4 in 2016.
