The Last of Us: Left Behind, the story add-on that Naughty Dog released for The Last of Us last year, is now available as a standalone download.
Left Behind is a prequel to the The Last of Us itself, telling the story of Ellie and her best friend Riley prior to her meeting up with Joel. It was met with critical acclaim when it came out last year, and won two 2015 BAFTA Games Awards for Best Story and Best Performer (Ashley Johnson as Ellie).
The standalone Left Behind costs $15.95, and is available on both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, albeit without any cross-buy support. It also includes a two-hour trial of Factions, The Last of Us' multiplayer mode, with the option to upgrade to the full Factions mode and/or the full game of The Last of Us.
The DLC version of Left Behind (which requires The Last of Us to play) has had its price reduced to match the standalone version. Those who've purchased The Last of Us Remastered will already have access to the Left Behind DLC, as it's included in that release.
