Destiny's second expansion, House of Wolves, will launch on May 19, Activision and Bungie announced this morning.
"The Reef will open to all Guardians, and you will join the allies of the Queen to destroy the traitorous Fallen from the House of Wolves," a statement on Bungie.net. "Over the course of the next month, we’ll be pulling the wraps off of all the new activities, modes, events, and gear you’ll have access to. Stay tuned to see exactly where your legend is headed next."
A teaser trailer for House of Wolves features a voiceover from the Queen of the Reef, inviting Guardians to help her seek revenge on the Fallen for betraying her, after she offered them a home amongst the Awoken. This is consistent with leaked information uncovered by a player back in February, though at the time, Bungie's David "DeeJ" Dague told Polygon that "aside from giving it a name, Bungie has yet to reveal the House of Wolves. That means that anything you know about it can change."
The official site for House of Wolves confirms that it will add three new competitive multiplayer maps, a new cooperative Strike, a new Elimination mode in the Crucible, and a new arena activity, The Prison of Elders. Further reveals are scheduled for April 22, April 29, May 6, and May 8.
House of Wolves will be available for individual purchase, and is also bundled with the first expansion, The Dark Below, in the Destiny Expansion Pass, which costs $43.35 on Xbox and $44.95 on PlayStation.
