The Sims 4 will be getting its first full-fledged expansion pack in April with the release of The Sims 4: Get to Work, EA and Maxis announced today.
Get to Work introduces three new active careers (doctor, detective, and scientist), each with its own unique venue and player interactions. As a doctor, you'll be treating patients, performing surgeries, and even delivering babies, while detective sees you investigating crimes and working your way up from Cadet to Chief of Police. As a scientist, you'll be "building crazy inventions and collecting unique specimens for diabolical creations" that your Sims can use to help or torment others.
The expansion also lets you create a retail business, choosing what to stock, managing your staff, and interacting with customers. Among the retail options are bakeries, clothing boutiques, art galleries, bookstores, and more. The new Photography and Baking skills let your Sims create new unique objects, which can be displayed or sold.
Finally, Get to Work adds aliens to the game. "Aliens have landed and walk amongst us! Find out which Sims are truly out of this world and discover the mysterious Alien dimension," Maxis' announcement explained.
This announcement comes not long after the release of The Sims 4: Outdoor Retreat, the game's first Game Pack (an extension of the Stuff Packs from earlier Sims games.) The Sims 4: Get to Work is due out in April, and costs $59.99.
