Explore Destiny's Planets, Street View Style

Runtime: 1:02    Author: destinygame    Category: Trailers

As part of the build-up to Destiny's release next week, Activision have released Planet View, a Google Street View-style app that allows fans to explore parts of Venus, Mars, and the Moon that will be playable in the game.

Planet View is powered by Google Technologies, and uses a similar interface to Street View. As well as getting an early look at some of the game's locations, users can uncover lore details, gameplay tips, and real-world and in-game incentives.

Destiny is the highly anticipated new game from Bungie, the creators of the Halo series. It's a multiplayer first-person shooter / role-playing game hybrid, that casts players as guardians of the last safe city on Earth and tasks them with fending off an ancient, alien threat. It will release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 on September 9 - next Tuesday.

HAHA I was thinking exactly that.

The game had better not be broken when it releases otherwise this will become flame fodder.

I must admit that the Activision/Bungie advertising & promotion is top notch at the moment. Who knows if Destiny in the long run will recoup the $500 million, but Beta access, White PS4 bundle, Sony support and this Google Tech? Future is looking bright for the IP.

Here's a tip. If you look at everything the maps have to offer you get a reward from Bungie that you can apply to your Guardian next week!
