The Music of The Last of Us

Runtime: 5:52    Author: PlayStation    Category: Trailers

Sony have released a new video over the weekend, focusing on the music that will feature in next month's The Last of Us.

Crafted (at least in part) by Argentinian composer Gustavo Santaolalla, a man who won consecutive "Best Original Score" Oscars in 2006 (Brokeback Mountain) and 2007 (Babel), the soundtrack (haunting sequences from which you can hear in the clip above) appears to further cement the brooding narrative tone many gamers expect The Last of Us to have when it releases on June 14th.

Naughty Dog had a great mood setting score with the Uncharted series, so it's no surprise this will have an awesome score

Agreed; it's great to see more and more developers taking the aural aspect of games seriously - this aspect is often woefully under utilized in games, and each game that ignores it suffers imo.

eerily beautiful. It fits the setting of The Last of Us perfectly. It even complements the decayed yet beautiful landscape of the game.
