Why hasn't anyone else in NZ done this yet? Because they are lame.
You're probably not even going to read this, you've clicked the Mini Boss link, looked at the strip and are calling all your friends about it. But I'm cool with that, I only started reading Penny-Arcade about a year ago, like, actual reading. The articles.
But for those of you who are reading – you probably want to know what this is all about. I like talking, so I'm going to tell you. I've been for a while interested in the idea of doing a web-comic for the site, in fact, I've been thinking about it since Christmas 2004. Unfortunately I lack the necessary skills to create one on my own, that's where Jesse Griffin comes in. You may know him from our forums as Art Monkey, suffice it to say, this dude has some mad skills. I figured that web-comics were an integral part of of web-based gaming culture, so it only made sense to have a web-comic on one of New Zealand's biggest gaming websites. 1 + 1 = 2 and such.
It has taken a while but it's finally here, Mini Boss, the creation of I, Mayur Gandhi and Jesse Griffin. A web-comic in the same vein as Penny-Arcade and Ctrl-Alt-Del but with a local spin. What? We're ripping them off? Yeah, and? Maybe not entirely... my primary motive is to inject a little humour into the site beyond Morg's hentai musings on our forums. Secondary is the witty satire on the gaming industry laced with foul and demeaning language, like that found in Tarantino flicks.
And if you haven't guessed by now, Jesse draws, I write (not the strip though, I'll be doing that later...). Actually, technically, Jesse colours using inks from a cool dude named Mike, both guys work for and run GiantRobotz.
We're planning on having this feature go up quite regularly so keep hitting F5 (refresh)! In the meantime here is the strip (which you've probably already read, but again, I'm cool with that).

Peace out!
MGJG
p.s. oh, and I'm not explaining the strip, not this time anyway
