Tomb Raider's 'Crossroads' Gameplay E3 Trailer

Square Enix have released the E3 2012 'Crossroads' trailer for the latest in the long-running Tomb Raider series.
Armed with only the raw instincts and physical ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance, Tomb Raider delivers an intense and gritty story into the origins of Lara Croft and her ascent from a frightened young woman to a hardened survivor.
“Forget everything you know about Tomb Raider, we are exploring things that have never been done before in this game,” said Darrell Gallagher, Head of Studio, Crystal Dynamics. “This is an origins story that creates Lara Croft and takes her on a character defining journey like no other.”
Tomb Raider is set to release late this year on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Maybe I've been away from the franchise too long, but Lara seems to have lost her edge and gained some Manga-esk qualities...
Hopefully they're setting the tomb raider series back on track. Looks like it could be great :)

its been a long time since I play any tomb raider but after seeing this I know I want e Lara Croft back in my life!
Excellent. A reboot of the franchise looks like exactly the thing needed for this! Looking forward to it after this trailer, it looks fantastic!
i hope they really dive into that survival aspect and raise the bar for adventure games
I have enjoyed previous Tomb Raider games, can't wait to play this. I was disappointed by the delay but it will be worthwhile if it results in a better game.

Big LOL. I can't see myself playing this personally...my simple mind aches at the endless nebulous tasks in game and I end up roaming as if it's GTA. Except it never really has anywhere that interesting to go, then I get a headache from the screen spinning so much

Lol, there so many good games coming out, i dont know what im gona buy first.
This game looks great. I just hope there is puzzles and such like the old games had.
Never played tomb raider before, but after watching this I'm definitely going to give it a go.
I think I read about this in an article last year or the year before. It has a really riveting opening like I imagined.

Cant wait for it to come out!! Its so different from the other games.
Never really got into the earlier tomb raider games, but i think the survival-y elements are a good move. LC never had a lot of personality IMO, so hopefully portraying her as a bit more vulnerable will work to remedy that.. And perhaps the breast reduction from comedy beach ball chest to good ole voluptuous will make gamers take her a bit more seriously.

It really does look impressive, I'm just wondering how strong the puzzle aspect is, it's pretty easy to "Forget everything you know about Tomb Raider", when they have reinvented Lara beyond recognition. I look forward to playing it, I've enjoyed the series from the beginning.
