AT A GLANCE
| The Good: The new fighters look great | "Tekken goes multiplatform" |
| The Bad: The odds of lag ruining online play | |
| The Ugly: Heihachi’s fashion sense |
The King of Iron Fist tournament is set to start again on three platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PlayStation Portable, in the latest entry to the renowned fighting series where combo mastery matters and button mashers are ripped to shreds. With Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion there has been a bit of controversy in its development - the Xbox 360 port has lead to many a flame war. However, regardless which console version you pick up, the PlayStation Portable release will have the most features – so leave the fighting in the game.
The roster is a bit larger than Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, sporting 40 competitors, each with their own unique fighting styles and customizable outfits. Fights will take place in a variety of destructible environments, a few of which are multi-tiered so you’ll be able to punch an opponent through walls and kick them through floors.
Unlike the previous HD instalment - Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection on PlayStation Network, which looked like a PlayStation 2 game – Tekken 6’s models will feature a higher polygon count, taking advantage of the new hardware so they will be in line with the level of texture detail. Tekken 6 will also improve on online play - so destroying your Eddy-using, button-mashing friends will be smoother than ever, unless you’ve got a high ping.
As far as old and new fighters go, returning fan favourites include King, Asuka, Bryan Fury, Christie Monteiro, Craig Marduk, Eddy Gordo, Heihachi, Hwoarang, Jin Kazama, Lili, Ling Xiaoyu, and Marshall Law.
The new fighters consist of Bob, Leo, Miguel Caballero Rojo, Zafina, Alisa Bosconovitch and Lars Alexandersson. You’ll have to be on your toes against the new bosses: NANCY-MI847J - the Arcade mode bonus boss - and main boss Azazel.
Unfortunately, as yet no release date has been announced for New Zealand. Keep it locked on NZGamer for more info and a release date.

And I hate Eddy for his cheapness, but if I wanted a fun basic player, you can't go past Law..but I don't get it, where did Forest get to, cause it would be awesome to pair him up with his Pops!
Jin and Brian are the best by far!
Soooo stoked this is coming to 360 btw =)
Only played this game at the arcades once. Gotta say the console version looks better.
That last boss Azazel in Tekken 6 is ridiculous, he is HUGE and it's hard to get close enough to hit him.
Totally agree TwisterJamz, Hwoarang was the man! I enjoyed using Ling Xiaoyu also, her crazy phoenix style was awesome.
