AT A GLANCE
| The Good: Wolfenstein 3D is still fun | "A quick look at the new Wolfenstein" |

| The Ugly: 'Next-gen-brown' |
The Wolfenstein series is about as old as FPS series get, and now the third installment in the series is coming – yes, I said the third; there were two 2D games developed by Muse software for some older systems such as the Commodore 64 before Wolfenstein 3D came along - hence they put “3D” in the title. That brings us to the sixth installment in the main series with a working title “Wolfenstein”. They only just announced it last month, but being a Wolfenstein title you probably already figured out Nazis will be involved.
Once again it will take place in World War 2, Hitler has his sights set on world domination, the allied forces are blocking his plans and players will resume the role of BJ Blazkowicz to fight against the Nazi forces, alien technology and ‘dark science’ created by the Nazis - all in the name of world domination! Early screenshots are showing off a mix of some glaringly bright next-gen-brown visuals and dark green environments filled with some aliens to dispense a little humanity on/kill.
With Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Gray Matter went into the weird side of the Nazi regime: exploring the secret experiments and… Pokemon training. This time around, however, Raven and newly founded developer Endrant Studios are handling development duties. The new title is based on a heavily modified version of the id Tech 4 engine, the same one used in Raven’s last title: Quake 4, which is odd since id software are already working with id Tech 5. It likely comes down to their familiarity with the engine.
So far the game is confirmed for PC (Windows and Linux), PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Although a Mac version will probably show up sooner or later. Keep it locked on NZGamer for more news on this title.

Hitler had a level 80 Magikarp.
Because they're experimental weapons you steal off the Nazis.
Ahh, good times, good times.
I don't think any game since has used the game mechanic of eating dog food!
