The Dynasty Warriors series has always been about putting the player in the middle of a large battlefield and leaving them to help their side win the war - that was on the last gen consoles. Now, the series is headed to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The extra horse power in the new consoles is bound to have an effect on the number of units displayed on field. It could work in the game’s favour as the extra units will provide a more intense feeling of being out-numbered, or it could work against it and leave the game feeling more repetitive.

This time around Dynasty Warriors will be set in ancient China during the 3rd century, with the story based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms. It depicts the battles caused by the fall of the Han Dynasty when some rebellious states moved to overthrow the Emperor of China. Familiar characters from past games are being recreated to suit the era with new weapons and fighting techniques. The new moves will be motion-captured using some of Asia’s leading stuntmen and women.

Adaptive enemy AI will constantly devise new counter measures for every move you make, keeping players on their toes or horses in this chaotic tactical action title. Dynasty Warriors 6 is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next year.
