AT A GLANCE
| The Good: Amazing graphics; three new levels. | "Looking good, but also familiar." |
| The Bad: It's pretty similar to the original... | |
| The Ugly: ...and the original is like $20 now. |
Ninja Gaiden is in serious danger of falling into the Street Fighter 2 trap. The game originally appeared on the Xbox, was refined for that system as Ninja Gaiden Black, and will now be refined once more for the PS3 as Ninja Gaiden Sigma.
However, Ninja Gaiden was so good, that being refined to perfection is hardly a bad thing. Ninja Gaiden Sigma will also allow Sony fans to get their hands on Ryu Hayabusa’s adventure for the first time.
But that’s not all; Team Ninja have always been known for their excellent graphics - sometimes to the point where they overshadow the gameplay - and Ninja Gaiden Sigma is no exception. Make no mistake; this game is gorgeous!
In addition to being treated to some beefed up new graphics that take advantage of the PS3 hardware, PlayStation fans will also be gifted three new levels where they can take control of ‘fiend hunter’ Rachel. These levels promise to further flesh out the story of Ninja Gaiden, as well as allowing some variation in the gameplay.
