So, you want to know what games will be available when you head down to your local game store to pick up your PlayStation 3 on launch day? We’ve compiled a list of the available titles – and pointed out the games we think you should be keeping an eye out for.

Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom

A sequel to Untold Legends, a PSP action role playing game, Dark Kingdom expands on the hack ‘n slash dungeon crawling gameplay of its predecessor. Naturally, the graphics have been beefed up a lot for this series’ PS3 debut – we just hope the game itself can avoid the problems that plagued the original.





Resistance: Fall of Man

If the PS3 has a killer app, this game is it. Resistance is a highly polished (and very good looking) first person shooter that starts off like any other World War II action game you have ever played – but then introduces hostile aliens and takes history down an entirely different path. Fast and frenetic gameplay, stellar graphics, and solid online multiplayer should ensure that this game will fly off the shelves when it hits these shores.



Virtua Fighter 5

The Virtua Fighter series has come a long way since the original game was released over a decade ago. Luckily, every new version has seen improvement after improvement, as the already solid fighting engine became more and more refined. Seeing as the series is praised almost as much as Dead or Alive, Tekken or Soul Calibur, the latest Virtua Fighter will be a must have for fighting fans.



Fight Night Round 3

While Fight Night Round 3 was an early release for the Xbox 360, the PS3 version will sport a number of additions and enhancements, including an upgrade to the already exceptional graphics engine. This, combined with the impressive control scheme, gives you a lot of reason to check Round 3 out if you don’t already have the 360 version.




MotorStorm

Have you seen the graphics? If not, take the time to check out some gameplay videos – this is one good-looking arcade racer. While the game experience isn’t looking all that deep, MotorStorm is shaping up to be the kind of game that will always be fun if you’re looking for a quick thrill.





Ridge Racer 7

The Ridge Racer series has remained popular ever since the first game was featured on the original PlayStation. The latest iteration looks set to deliver the same arcade racing thrills and spills, now with some sleek HD graphics.






Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

If you like RPGs, and don’t already own Oblivion, you’d be a fool not to pick this up at launch. Boasting a truly immense and immersive world, hours upon hours of content, and some very pretty trees, Oblivion is simply one of the best role playing games of recent times. The PS3 version will ship with the Knights of the Nine quest line, as well as a few graphical enhancements.




The Godfather: The Don’s Edition

Are you sick of all the ‘make an offer you can’t refuse’ jokes that keep popping up when people talk about The Godfather line of games? Well, you might need to suffer a little while longer, as The Don’s Edition is coming to the PS3. In addition to updated graphics and sound, this new version features additional modes and gameplay features that take it far beyond a standard port.




Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2007

It’s a Tiger Woods golf game, but now with better graphics! Seriously, though, if you’re a fan of the series, this is looking like the best version to pick up – in addition to sharper graphics, you’ll be treated to several gameplay enhancements that can’t be found on current-gen versions.
