24: The Game

AT A GLANCE

The Good: Great visuals, lots of “24” drama and a few tidbits of info for the fans. "Looks great, filled with plenty of drama."
The Bad: The possibility that the gameplay will still be unrefined on launch.
The Ugly: You might become as stressed as Jack if you play for too long.

24: The game looks like a fairly solid 3rd person action adventure game which should delight veterans of the TV series, while attracting newcomers alike. The game follows Jack and his cohorts in another epic day, set between seasons two and three, and will follow the style of the show, where events unfold simultaneously and eventually tie together.

The game is structured into mission, where the player will control one character of Jack's team. While the majority of the gameplay consisting of running and gunning, the player will also be able to hide bodies and take a more stealthy approach. There will also be multiple puzzles in the form of decoding stolen data, tracking down cell phone signals, identifying terrorists using thermal imagery from a satellite in real time and interrogating prisoners.

The graphics are fairly good, and while they appear dated in terms of current PC games, they must certainly be pushing the PS2 to its limits. The character models have incredible likenesses to the actors. The actors will also be lending their voice talent to the game to ensure authenticity.

There were still some technical hitches back in June, but hopefully 24: The Game will have ironed those out by the time of its release on the 11th of November.
