Welcome ladies and gents to NZGamer’s latest feature, Best Deals, in which I (with some help of our cunning members who have been keen-eyed and cashed in themselves) delve into the depths of the internet and gaming stores to retrieve the very best bargains and competitions for you. Who said that we never look after our members and visitors here at NZG?

Listed below in no particular order of preference are the hottest deals available at the moment, compiled for you in one neat list ready for you to attack gaming outlets. • Doom 3: Collector’s Edition for the Xbox at the absolutely insane price of $18.00! That’s a saving from the RRP of $80.

• Phantasy Star Universe for the Xbox 360 at the hot price of $48. That’s a saving of $80 yet again. When I went to school back in the 90’s I learnt that 80 + 80 = 160. That’s $160 cold hard cash you could have saved so far just by reading this very article!

• Last but not least from GPstore is a New Zealand favourite: Rugby League 2 on the PS2. This game is available for the paltry sum of $39.95, down from over the $100 mark that it would normally retail for.

• First for the PSP system, Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded is on sale for $40, which is a saving of just over 50%! Also on special for the PSP is Tomb Raider: Legend which, at the price of $60, saves you $40 from the RRP.

• Not to feel left out in the handheld cold, the Nintendo DS has some specials which will keep you glued to your portable screen.

You can scoop up the following titles for a steal at $20: King Kong, Battles of Prince of Persia and Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects.

• Ron, the big cheese himself, chimed in with this little gem: Mark Ecko’s Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure is going for a red-hot $15 on PS2 and Xbox in selected Gamesman stores.

• Djkicks also handed me this hot tip for all you Auckland bargain hunters: Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is going for $54.95 on the Xbox 360 at JB Hi-Fi on Queen Street, which at the time of printing is the cheapest price I could find in the land for this title.
