I don’t know, is it just me ? I am not sure I could play monopoly other than the old fashioned way with the plastic top hat and lots of cheap little mass produced houses.  I Say lots but some are always missing and you use Lego bricks instead..but that’s fine.

Anyway , Monopoly is now a full retail release for all the major consoles. To me it’s a live arcade game /PSN network game at most but I guess someone saw opportunity for profit.

I used to be livid every time I saw the new edition without cash ..just plastic smartcards and calculator reader to add and subtract money to your total. I though the idea of monopoly was to teach kids how to count money ..but now you don’t even need to count the squares you move on the board.

There is even one version you can buy that has an electronic voice and lists in big letters on the front of the box 'NO NEED TO READ'..good work Milton Bradly.

We are breeding a splendid new menial labour force for the next generation. Its lucky modern Point of sale systems tell the user exactly how much change to give the customer and how many of each of the little shiny metal things you need to make up that total.
