AT A GLANCE
| The Good: Broken Sword has always been in the front of the adventure gaming pack. | "George Stobbart and adventure gaming – not dead yet." |
| The Bad: If you’re not into puzzles and conspiracy theories, stay far far away. | |
| The Ugly: Like it or not, this will be the last Broken Sword. |
To the delight of many, the fourth installment of the epic Broken Sword series is indeed on its way to New Zealand shores. Renowned for their complex and gripping storylines, The Broken Sword series has long been one of the most popular adventure titles for PC gamers.
“The demand from fans for another game in the Broken Sword series has been overwhelming,” said Charles Cecil, Managing Director, Revolution Software. Originally designed as a trilogy, with Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon intended as the finale, the developers have announced that they are delighted to have been able to relent on that previous decision.
The fourth installment, entitled “Broken Sword: The Angel of Death” will bring back the unwitting and occasionally reluctant hero George Stobbart. As you step into his shoes, you’ll be entering into a conspiracy-riddled world filled with dark secrets from a long-forgotten history. As you play, you’ll uncover a nefarious plot that reignites an age-old rivalry between the world’s more powerful factions. All in a day’s work, right?
“Broken Sword: The Angel of Death has been designed from the puzzle upwards to create the most compelling, challenging gameplay as well as deliver an enthralling story that will appeal to both fans of the genre and newcomers alike”, said Cecil.
Filled with more puzzles, mysteries, enigmas and conundrums than you could poke a stick at, Broken Sword: The Angel of Death will give PC gamers a renewed hope that the long neglected genre of adventure gaming is far from dead. Keep an eye out for this title towards the end of September.
