Hahaha that DOES look like Shaun. I think his new nickname should be Mr Default.

I think this was the best podcast in a while...you get points for overusing the phrase 'Santa's Sack' as well as Tristan talking about getting sexy lingerie for partners or mothers. Sick, dude.

Good podcast. No extended discussion on Singstar for once, just a mention.

I believe "clocking" stems from old score based games which have limited digits.
eg. you're on 9999, score 1 point and it resets to 0000 again.
like a clock cycles from 23:59 to 00:00.

We've already head Stupidlikeafox's Zombie plans :D

I don't call it clocking...Because that just sounds so cliche. I usually say "Maxed" when I'm referring to achievements, or if it's just finishing the story line I'll just say finished.

Every fortnightly Friday's at 10am!

Is it just me that thinks that doesnt make sense?

Every fortnight?

Fortnightly Fridays?

Oh and good PC.

"I hate zombies because they are dead, and then they are alive again"

It made me laugh.

Yeah, every second Friday at 10am - as in each fortnight. Don't worry, it doesn't make sense to me either - and I wrote it!

lol was talking to Shaun today and he asked me about the clocking thing as I'm quite retro. He looked a little disappointed when I said it's when the score reset.

First game I clocked was Donkey Kong game and watch.

I say Clocking is finishing with all unlockables.
I just call it finishing the game if you finish it with out all unlockables.

this is a cool comp

MatEPoonReplyPosted by MatEPoon on 8 December 2008, 12:12PM
Clocking is very old terminology (80s).
Where I came from it just meant to finish a game.

SmurfWorksReplyPosted by SmurfWorks on 8 December 2008, 01:12PM
Clocking is the way I always put finishing a game. Until one day I was questioning words. I thought about it, and in the old days of gaming, before score counting was decent, people used to time themselves, as another reason to brag/be dominant.

"Hey guys, I clocked Pacman. 30 minutes."

"he's turning into god - quick, kill him!"

nice. i use clocking. isnt it derived from time taken to complete a game? either way, you wont catch me undead saying "completed"...

Aw, Lucy, I love your avatar too! I was unaccountably stoked that the glasses my avatar wears are EXACTLY the same as the ones the real me wears. It's the little things.

Also, Tristan, dear, if I finish FF12 and you get rid of the PS2 you will summarily a) not be able to play PS2 SingStars anymore, and b) completely bust up the pleasing symmetry of the PS1, 2 and 3 under the television.

Ah, but Sony is onto your devious plan, darling - this side of Christmas they're releasing a patch to allow PS2 SingStars to work within the PS3 version!

Go on, stop working on that essay/playing Psychonauts again, and finish FFXII. ;)
